About the role

We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Web & Mobile) to own the experiences advisors live in every day across our web app, our Gmail and Outlook extensions, and the mobile surfaces we are building next.

This is a high-craft, high-ownership role for someone who genuinely cares about how product feels in advisors’ hands. You will work directly with the founders, designers, and backend engineers to set technical direction across our TypeScript codebase, raise the bar on design quality, and turn ambitious product ideas into shipped features fast.

You will own the surfaces where real advisors do real work, including the web product, the in-inbox extensions for Gmail and Outlook, and the mobile experience as we extend Vega across the full advisor workflow.

Responsibilities

Product engineering

  • Take ownership of end-to-end product features in our web app, from spec through design partnership, implementation, rollout, and iteration.
  • Partner closely with design to translate Figma into production UI with the polish, motion, and interaction details that make Vega feel different.
  • Set the standard for testing, performance, and accessibility across our frontend codebase.

In-inbox extensions

  • Build and maintain our Gmail and Outlook extensions, where a large share of advisor work actually happens.
  • Navigate the platform constraints of browser and mail clients while keeping the product feeling native and reliable.
  • Continuously improve performance, stability, and developer experience for the extensions stack.

Mobile

  • Help define and ship our mobile experience, evaluating the right tradeoffs between native, React Native, and web.
  • Establish the foundations that allow us to ship a high-quality mobile product without slowing down web.

Engineering practices & collaboration

  • Collaborate with backend engineers on the API contracts and real-time patterns that power AI-driven features.
  • Help shape our engineering practices around component design, state management, and AI-assisted development.
  • Contribute to a culture of strong code review, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience shipping production frontend software, with deep TypeScript and modern JavaScript skills.
  • Strong React expertise. You can architect a feature, not just compose components.
  • A real eye for design, motion, and interaction detail. You care about the difference between a button that works and a button that feels great.
  • Experience working with REST and/or GraphQL APIs, and comfort with real-time patterns including WebSockets, SSE, and streaming UI.
  • Familiarity with at least one mobile framework (React Native, Swift/SwiftUI, or Kotlin) and a clear point of view on cross-platform tradeoffs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, especially when working closely with designers and product.

Nice to have

  • Experience building browser extensions for Chrome, Edge, or Outlook.
  • Background at an early-stage startup or as a founding frontend engineer.
  • Familiarity with Astro, Tailwind, or other parts of our stack.
  • Experience working with AI products or LLM-driven UIs, including streaming responses, agentic flows, and voice interfaces.
  • Background in financial services, fintech, or another regulated industry.

What “great” looks like

  • You can scope, build, deploy, and iterate without waiting for perfect specs.
  • You are comfortable owning a surface end-to-end, from design partnership through performance tuning.
  • You hold a high bar for product polish and treat motion, accessibility, and reliability as part of the work, not as an afterthought.
  • You think in user value first and stack second, choosing the right tool rather than your favorite one.
  • You enjoy working closely with design and product to make ambitious ideas real.

Why join us?

  • Join a fast-paced, high-growth startup at an early and exciting stage
  • Work at the frontier of artificial intelligence, the defining technology of this generation
  • Collaborate with a small, young, and highly ambitious team
  • Competitive salary and benefits
  • Mostly in-person role, with meaningful flexibility to work from home
  • Flexible and trust-based PTO culture
